There are many blessings to being a pastor but for me, personally, one of the greatest is being part of the CAP community. I find that no matter how much we have to offer our students that they have even more to offer us. CAP reflects both the rich diversity of the human experience and God’s abundant love for all of us.

Rev. Daniel M. Caruso, Pastor, Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Parish

The Cathedral Academy at Pompei remains at the very core of my success as a professional in the academy and as an active and engaged citizen.  At a very young age, I learned how to hone academic skills that have served me well throughout my career.  But beyond the outstanding academic preparation that serves as the baseline expectation of Catholic education, the Cathedral Academy at Pompei is best characterized as a "learning family in a faith-filled environment".The challenging academic experience is coupled with unparalleled nurturing and support.  Further, the principal and faculty form a strong team who take the academic success and personal development of every single child very seriously and personally.  The environment is so fundamentally transformative that I insisted on the exact same experience for my own child.

Dr. Linda LeMura Tanner, President of LeMoyne College, Alumni OLP 74'

"Cathedral Academy at Pompei is a unique international school in the Roman Catholic Tradition. I have known this wonderful place as a student, as a parent, and as a Le Moyne College administrator. Throughout the years it has developed into an ethnically, linguistically and culturally diverse learning community of high achieving students. The CAP learning community is the personification of global education at its best."

Dr. Linda Le Mura, President of Le Moyne College.

As alumni of the former Our Lady of Pompei School, there was never any
doubt as to which elementary school our children would attend. The
dedication of the faculty and staff provides a quality education in a
Christ-centered and loving environment.  Our children were well prepared
and made an easy transition to junior high school.

We have been at CAP for the past 8 years.  Our daughter Audrey graduated from CAP last spring and has achieved high honor roll status her first semester in 7th grade.  We also have a son in 5th grade and a daughter in 1st grade and a 2 year old at home.  Over the years we have been so blessed to be part of the CAP family.  CAP offers our children a warm and nurturing atmosphere where children are children and celebrated for what makes them the same as well as for what makes them different.  The strong academic programs in the school are continuously enhanced by volunteers from LeMoyne College, St. Joe's, our parish and the community.  We look forward to many more happy years at CAP and applaud all that is being done to make our children’s school experience the most memorable and wonderful that it can be.

"As transplants to Syracuse, we closely examined all the area Catholic and private schools before choosing CAP.  We were excited by the prospect of a diverse student body and the unique programs that the school was able to offer to all of its students. The school has not disappointed us.  In fact, the school never ceases to amaze us with the dedication of their teachers, as well as the introduction of new and exciting programs and opportunities for the students.  The relationship that CAP has with Le Moyne College, in addition to the Imagine Syracuse program, makes it a truly special place."

Dr. Robert and Mrs. Jill Zens

I have been blessed to serve as a teacher at Our Lady of Pompei and Cathedral Academy at Pompei since 1972. My many experiences over the years have enriched my life by the many cultures of our students starting from the Italian Americans to the many cultures presently enrolled in our school, including our new Sudanese families. It has always been my goal to give my students the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in life and be faithful followers of Christ.

Kathy Hallett , CAP Teacher

“My daughter has been attending CAP for five years now, and I have two other children who started Pre-k this year. My daughter has benefited greatly from the unique student body and small class size. She has also been a part of the Imagine Syracuse Program, where she learned to play the French horn in as little as three months. Not to mention, all three of my children have had the pleasure to be taught by one of the truly special teachers from Le Moyne College. CAP is the one place that I know where culture is not only accepted but embraced. Every child brings something to the classroom. In a world where so much chaos exists between cultures, it is nice to know that there is a place where we can all come together in peace and harmony, regardless of our differences, that place is CAP.”

Melissa Morris, Parent Advisory Council Secretary

On Election Day this year I went to the annual Spaghetti Supper at Our Lady of Pompei. What impressed me the most was the continued sense of community that this little school has perpetuated . There were people who went to the Pompei school 50 and 60 years ago and the still come back to support the school and the community that loves Pompei.

Joe Russo,  OLP class of 1961

"Our school is fun and loving. No one is mean. The teachers are great and everyone loves us here. God is always a part of our day. Our school is like one big happy family. We are from many cultures but they all come together at the front door because when we walk in our school we are one united family."
